SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBOURS!

People talk about sustainability, but firstly do they know what it is?

It is simple, sustaining for the future. I do waste a lot of water while having bath, when my mom shouts from outside.. " Don't waste water". This made me realize that people from the previous generations actually do care about earth. Another example is my grandmother, the way she treats each flower in her garden back in Kerala amuses me.

In my opinion, people will try to save earth if they don't want to spend so much money. Bills are flowing here & there with money the only solution to live in this world. This statement takes me to my neighbourhood in Jahangirpura, surat where people are actually using SOLAR ENERGY! Wow, now it's a trend.

The middle picture is the solar panel mounted on top of my house. Oh god!, it too hot in here, we get too much sunlight so why not use it? The first image shows how people around are mounting panels. But why?, yes they aren't thinking about any other advantage than electricity bills. However, this source of energy is renewable and it is a great sustainable green energy choice. It is directly having an effect on our ecosystem. We are saving water, using solar energy will directly lead to lower water consumption as water is used to generate electricity. The only water needed is rainwater to naturally clean the panels when they get a bit grubby!

Generating electricity from solar panels produce no harmful emissions. It is like more the merrier as there will be less emissions from fossil fuels and thereby reddish air pollution. Another benefit is it will help us in the fight against climate change by reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

How about this?

I am blessed with this view from my home. The first and third picture is the greenhouse plantation just behind my home and the middle one is a snap of the organic farming section at my terrace. My mother is crazy about organic farming!

Greenhouse farming is efficient as growing plants in greenhouses produces 6 to 10 times the yield compared to growing them in open field. It is a great solution to organic producers giving complete control over irrigation, organic fertilizers, climate etc.

The image below is the end product of organic vegetable farming by my mother. These vegetables are quite nutritious.

The moral is that world is trying, some people care & some not. It is not about looking for others to do, its about how little can we contribute. :)
